I think the press can be trusted to bring out facts as they see them on most any subject. I think they tell us what they observe as factual most of the time. I think sometimes (not all the time) they color what they report because, after all, they are human. If I had to place a percentage on the accuracy of news reporting is to me, I would give most of the media 80 to 90 percent.
I think that most journalist reporting is biased to a degree but I think that journalist do report pretty accurately what they learn and what they see and hear.
I think for us the listeners and readers that we must always try to get many different newspapers, magazines, and watch a variety of news programs as we possibly can to assure ourselves of getting the best and most accurate news that can be gotten. I think many of us tend to read only certain editorials, and watch only certain television networks, and pickup only certain magazines, et cetera from which we garner our opinions and our ideas. We, generally, are creatures of habit. We like what we like and we don’t particularly like to listen or read someone that, usually, we find ourselves always at disagreement.
I think we must always try to understand the many differing views on any subject and the news media certainly gives us those differing views as best that they can; all that we have got to do is look and listen for them.
Donato,
I feel as well that little to none insofar as info can be trusted...why, because of the very nature and carriage of the two legged beast named man.
for as long as it remains within his grasp of control, flawed shall earmark each page of the journey.
