I have just finished a collection of short stories for young readers. It is called "The Busy-Body Collection", eleven stories all told. Each story allows the reader to solve daily problems by seeing their own trials portrayed through the character in each episode. Essential messages help the young to unwind after a busy day at play. A great read for parents when you don't have just the right words to deal with a specific problem, like death, anger and ethnic issues.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is John Conrad McKeeman. I am a trained graphic artist, optician by trade, writer and illustrator in heart. I have just completed the manuscript OZWALD I'M CALLED. It is a children's picture story book, about 30 pages and 750 words long. It is a 100% rhyming and thoroughly entertaining tale that introduces both Ozwald (his feet are furry and red, his head quite bald)and Olli (his first name is Oliver but call him Olli, he prefers). The illustrations are designed to appeal to bookstore-browsing parents as well as their children. They are bright, full, and bold, with marvelous detail. If you are an interested publisher or agent please contact me. (860)-224-4641, or JMCKEEMAN@MSN.COM

I have started to write a series of childrens short stories. They are geared around everyday feelings and emotions and incorporates ideas parents can use to teach children how to handle their emotions through reading playful short stories. I have finished writing the first three volumes which are titled; Decisions, Patience, and Winners. My problem is not writing, it's knowing what to do with them once they are written. How do I know whether it's good material? How do I fine tune the material I have written? What do I do with it after all the fine tuning is done?

I have no experience as a writer but I have written what I think is an interesting and entertaining children's story about a curious little boy with so many questions about his life and life in general. I have based it on my experience as a mother and on the many nieces and nephews that have provided me with hours of entertainment with their questions and curiosities about their own lives. It is a story that works well alone in different chapters or would work as separate, individual little story books with a new adventure for each chapter. I own the copyright on this book with the Library of Congress. I have submitted the manuscript to several publishing companies without response. It's wholesome, delightful and will remind people of some of their own childhood expreiences.

I produce multicultural stories both in English and or
Spanish. Won the 97 and 98 Writer's Digest "Non-Fiction Categories." Have an extensive military background and produced a wonderful young adult story
that truly touches the "teen" (ie. military brat's heart)...quite realistic since I have known many great
military brats! On the Romance arena, working on a story based in Spain, U.S. and Latin America...taken from ideas of my maternal's family (ie Jose Carreras is my mom's cousin". On my paternal's Italian/Cuban
side, working on a Romance that deals with Cuba, Foreign Security and Politics plus more!
Looking for a serious publisher/and or agent that is willing to work with a multi/genre writer that is 100% committed in any genre embarked. A.M.A.: e-mail:neainmar@erols.com.

I am not an experienced author, but I have always wanted to write children's books. I have written a children's story about a girl who would love to help improve the world (by helping the poor, sick and needy), but she doesn't think that she being only one person can make a difference. As you go with her through the story, you can see how just one person can make a big difference. Please consider reading my story and publishing it. I do have someone that I want to illustrate it for me.
Thanks for your consideration.

Hi: My name is Carol but I'm known by my nickname "swoosie" and I would love to write short stories to children from the age of 7 to 10 but I can't seem to put it down on paper. I've had many experiences good and not so good(born with clubfeet having to wear casts for many years), moving several times throughout my childhood, kind of was a loner growing up by did have one friend in my last year of high school. Managed to overcome with surgery carparl tunnel(not sure of the spelling) in both of my hands, up and down mood swings without drugs and now I'm recovering or lets say taking one day at a time for a back injury for the last 5 years. I've had surgeries and now have a morphine pump implanted into my stomach, I also take strong pain killers 4x a day,I also get very nauseous at different times of the day.I can become very tired easily but I still put a smile on my face as I wake up each morning that I have no dreadful diseases that can't be cured and that I am alive. I would love to write childrens short stories but can't seem to focus on what characters to pick, what kind of story to write, happy, sad, mystery, magical. I need all the help and suggestions on how to begin. Please email me at the following address: swoosie@hotmail.com
Thank you

I have enjoyed writing since the age of nine and have many stories to share. Currently, I am working on a series of books featuring a "nut" boy character. The stories deal with morality, inclusive and responsibility issues. The series is written in such a way that a child can understand the basic underlying theme. I have "tested" the books on children as young as three and have gotten great responses. I am very much interested in being published.

I eventually wrote it down in a creative writing class and got it in classic fairy tale form. And have since been looking to have it published.

Greetings,
I take the liberty of introducing myself as a renowned Quiz Master in North India and have handled quite a few important branding exercises for some of the most renowned corporate houses of India in the form of state of the art, interactive, multimedia quizzes on a national scale.
Some of the imporatnt corporate giantsfor whom i have designed, conceptualized and executed interactive multimedia quizzes are: The Times of India Group, India's largest media house, for their School level newspaper - Newspaper In Education and Education Times, the educational supplement of The Times of India group for the Universities and Colleges of India.
2) Designed and executed Quizzes for Pepsi, Reynolds (of France) and many more too.
I would like to add here , quite humbly, that I have an impressive academic record too.
I was interested in authoring an educative book( series of books) in the format of a Discover -It- Yourself book, taking various scientific topics and subjects in the form of science fiction and revealing the important concepts and terms through interesting stories, thereby unfolding the mysteries of science and technology to the bright young minds ( Children). this could be followed by an actual synapsis of the subject or topic discussed and a volley of quizzes to compound and enhance the process of learning.
For Instance, If we deal with the topic "Environment", then terms like ecology, CFC, Greenhouse Effect, Ozone layer could be weaved in an interesting format into an exciting and thrilling story revolving around one main character, say a little boy who has an innate habit to tinker around and question every fascinating thing,
This could be followed by a short synapsis on the actual topic, in this case Environment, so that the young readers imbibe all the more in a systematic way and would not have to struggle with the tough terms and concepts ,as by now they would have already been familiarized with them through the short fiction story on Environment.
All the above said learning would even more be consolidated by some rounds of Discover - It -Yourself Quizzes on the said topic.
Based on this format a series of scientific as well as non scientific topics could be dealt with and learning could actually be fun and not cumbersome for the kids.
I could come out with a detailed proposal/manuscript along with my credentials if you feel that the entire idea of making learning a discovery process for kids as a useful medium.
I would like to add here that getting a book published to my name or credit is not my goal but imparting quality education and knowledge through through the right channel and method is of utmost priority to me. With this unique discover - it - yourself concept of books, I would like to addrees thousands of children throughout the world and unravel the facts of life as I would want to do for my little 7 and 12 year old daughters who have already started questioning the working of mother nature and life in general.
To me, if any publisher undertakes the process of publishing these discover - it -yourself books he would surely do his part as a good parent too.
I hope an understanding publisher would stand by this unique educational endeavour .
Thanking You
Sourav Roy

SCIENTISTS AGAINST MADNESS
The S.A.M. (Scientists Against Madness) statement below is the final text that was written at the Universal Information Collection Institute last month. This document was signed by all senior members of the institute, including the majority of Nobel laureates.
S.A.M. WARNING:
The misuse of scientific and technical knowledge now presents a major threat to the existence of humankind. The actions of many governments have shaken our confidence in their abilities to make wise and humane decisions.
INTRODUCTION
Human beings and the natural world have collided. Many of our current practices have jeopardized the future that we wished for human society and the plant and animal kingdoms.
THE ENVIRONMENT
The atmosphere stratospheric ozone depletion has enhanced ultraviolet radiation at the earth's surface, which has now damaged many life forms. Air pollution near ground level, and acid precipitation continues to cause widespread injury to humans, forests, and crops. Heedless exploitation of depletable ground water supplies now endangers food production and other essential human systems. Heavy demands on the world's surface waters have resulted in critical shortages in some 120 countries, containing 70 percent of the world's population. Pollution of rivers, lakes, and ground water is now limiting the remaining supply. Destructive pressure on the oceans is now critical, particularly in the coastal regions which produce most of the world's food fish. The total marine catch is now above the estimated maximum sustainable yield. Many fisheries have collapsed while rivers carrying heavy burdens of eroded soil into the seas continue to carry toxic industrial, municipal, agricultural and livestock waste. Loss of soil productivity, has caused extensive land abandonment which is a widespread byproduct of past and present practices in agriculture and animal management. Thirty percent of the earth's vegetated surface has been critically degraded while per capita food production in most parts of the world continues to decrease to critical levels. Tropical rain forests, as well as tropical and temperate dry forests, are in a critical state. At present rates, most essential forest types will be gone in a few years, and most of the tropical rain forest will be gone in less than thirty years. With them will go large numbers of plant and animal species. The irreversible loss of species will reach one-half of all species now living by the year 2040. We are losing the potential they hold for providing medicinal and other benefits, and the contribution that genetic diversity of life forms gives to the robustness of the world's biological systems and to the astonishing beauty of the earth itself. Other processes appear to pose additional threats. Increasing levels of gases in the atmosphere from human activities, including carbon dioxide released from fossil fuel burning and from deforestation, have already altered our climate on a global scale. Global warming now has human causalities measuring in the thousands and in a few decades will measure in the hundreds of millions. Our massive tampering with the world's interdependent web of life coupled with the environmental damage inflicted by deforestation, species loss, and climate change has triggered widespread adverse effects, including unpredictable collapses of critical biological systems whose interactions and dynamics are barely understood. The earth is finite and has almost lost its ability to absorb destructive wastes. Its ability to provide food and energy is now measured in decades instead of centuries. Current economic practices which damage the environment, in both developed and underdeveloped nations have compromised vital global systems beyond repair. Pressures resulting from unrestrained population growth is destroying the natural world. Estimates indicate that world population will not stabilize at less than 18 billion, while the United Nations concludes that the eventual total could reach 24 billion. At this very moment, one person in four lives in absolute poverty and suffers serious malnutrition.
THE ONLY SOLUION
Simultaneously address four inextricably linked areas:
Eliminate world poverty.
Move away from fossil fuels.
Halt deforestation and reforest.
Stabilize the worlds population.
